The Curious Order of Ink & Flame

Founder: Julius Beverly Prescott (J.B. to most, Julie to a few close friends)

Born on March 15, 1888, on a ranch in Santa Barbara, California, J.B. Prescott grew up riding cutting horses, which instilled in him a deep appreciation for resilience, curiosity, and exploration. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps, serving in the Mexican Border Conflict and World War I as a pilot. Post-war, he moved to New York City, where he became an author for Astounding Stories and a member of The Futurians. Through his interactions and inspirations from fellow Futurians, he developed the tenets of Narrative DRIVE. J.B. believed that everyone is the hero of their own story, constantly writing and rewriting the narrative of their lives through every action, reaction, and choice.

The Foundation

The Curious Order of Ink & Flame follows the tenets of Narrative DRIVE, embracing the principles of Dedication, Resilience, Imagination, Vision, and Empathy to guide our creative journeys.

Introductory Quote from J.B. Prescott

"With every breath, we are both author and protagonist of life's tale. Through each action, reaction, and choice, we write and rewrite the narrative of our existence. Embrace this power, for through stories; we shape reality – leaving our unique mark upon the world. Semper curiosus, semper creator."
